The Kluang Heritage Railway Linear Park is more than just a park. It is a convergence of the past and the present, where the history of rail intersects with present day modernity. Every element serves a purpose to tell a story - and we invite you to create new ones with the memories that you will forge within this space.
Like most railway towns, Kluang was one that boomed with the opening of its railway station in the early 1900s. Receiving commuters from far and wide, either searching for opportunity or community - the passing of the trains signalled new beginnings for all. Whether they were merely passing through on their way to stations beyond, stopping by for a cuppa or trading their wares, there was no denying the transformation that followed with each carriage than rolled along passing track.
Fast forward to a century later, modern technology has transformed various modes of transport, but the railway remains the beating heart of the town. Train stations have been upgraded beyond the single-storied or sheltered stops of old, and Kluang is now one of the stops alongside the Gemas-Johor Bahru Electrified Double Track Project (EDTP), undertaken by SIPP-YTL and is the final stretch of the Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) network to be upgraded to an electrified double track that runs from the southern tip of the peninsula all the way to the north in Padang Besar.
