Powering Electrified Futures.
In 1995, Malaysia entered a new era of public transport with the launch of KTM Komuter, the country’s first electric commuter train service. Just two years later, the Express Rail Link (ERL) project by YTL Construction was announced, connecting KL Sentral to KLIA. The line opened in 2002, bringing seamless airport access to the capital.
The drive toward modernisation continued in 2010 with the launch of the Electric Train Service (ETS) along the electrified and double-tracked Kuala Lumpur–Padang Besar route. Travelling at speeds of up to 160km/h, ETS reshaped long-distance travel in Peninsular Malaysia.
